On Saturday October 1, Stanley Dentistry team members attended the 12th annual United Service Organizations of North Carolina (USO-NC) gala at Embassy Suites in Cary NC. This year is the 75th anniversary of USO-NC
USO of NC was founded in 1941 and is the lead organization charged with supporting military servicemen and women in the state of North Carolina. Eleven percent of U.S. military active duty forces call North Carolina home. With seven major military installations, North Carolina has the fourth largest demographic of active and reserve duty components in the country.
The USO of NC has five centers in North Carolina. Three of NC’s centers are travel based at Raleigh Durham International Airport and Charlotte Douglas Airport, as well as the centers at Fort Bragg and Jacksonville, the oldest center in the United States.
The evening’s notable guests included emcee Tisha Powell, from ABC-11, Senator Richard Burr, as well as, a Medal of Honor winner, Colonel Walter J. Marm and many distinguished members of the military. Country music singers Montgomery Gentry provided the evening’s live entertainment.
Stanley Dentistry has been an ardent supporter of the USO of North Carolina with programs such as the annual candy donation we facilitate through our candy buyback program. “The military is so important and is serving us around the clock. It’s nice to be able to show our appreciation”, said Dr. Bobbi Stanley.
